He was going to kill her. First he was going to kiss her, and then he was going to kill her.

"Your choice of the lovely ladies, or the not so lovely ladies, if you catch my drift." Decker elbowed him in the ribs and laughed like the creepy asshole he was.

"What if I want one of the new girls?" Kosta was this close to blowing his cover. There was no way he could allow Heli to be in this hellhole longer than absolutely necessary. By his measure, necessary ended a good ten minutes ago, right around the time she walked through the door.

"Nope. Those girls are off limits, to everyone. Nobody touches them until I say so. I'm not risking all our plans on you, or any other member of the pack, wanting to get laid. Besides, I saw you eyeing the one with the boobs and the ass. You know her?"

Fucking hell. He couldn't lie. He'd barely gotten out of a beat down a minute ago, if Decker even suspected Kosta was lying, he'd be back to getting his face punched in. "I might have fucked her before."

Sweet baby Jesus, don't let her have heard that. Or this. "I've fucked a lot of women in Rogue. That's what they're around for, right?"

"You got that right."

Har, har, har. Not.

Sure, he enjoyed sex as much as the next guy. More if it was with Heli. But where were the women in these men's lives who taught them how to behave, the difference between right and wrong, and what real love was? Piotr Troika, his father, was no slouch when it came to raising his boys right, but his mother was the one who'd started a revolution based on being able to choose who one loved and mated.

Now that he thought about it, Decker's mom was the only wolftress he'd seen around.

"I'd rather have a wolftress in my bed. Where are they?" He looked around the room like he was going to find them. His senses told him the only females here were the humans.

"I've married a few of them off to solidify some alliances, and the rest I keep in the cottages. The only wolftresses I allow in the pack house is the alpha's mate, and as you can see, I have not chosen my mate yet. My mother is the exception because she was the alpha's mate, and she will follow him into death soon enough."

The pack matriarch dying when the alpha died was an old legend. Kosta hadn't heard of any wolftress actually doing that in modern times, if at all. He was wondering if other packs of one-bloods had this strange mix of old but also wanting to change the old laws. They were picking and choosing what they wanted to believe in like cherries.

Very scary cherries. He needed to learn how to crush them soon and screwing around with kidnapped human women wasn't the way to do that. If Kosta had one skill from his childhood, it was knowing how to push his older brother's buttons.
