GETTING THINGS ON TRACK

James

What a way to have our first kiss at the castle to be witnessed. When we came up for air and Josh was standing on the castle steps with Kamela while cheering, I could have wrung his neck. Payback can be hell on a man and I intend to get my payback during the best man’s toast.

“You do know that payback is hell and when I do my toast at the wedding reception, I’ll get you back,” I shouted in humor as Jas and I walked up the steps.

As Josh and I gave each other a bear hug, he said, “Yes, I know that I’m going to pay for the cheering. Just keep in mind that I will get the chance to pay you back too in the near future if I’m not mistaken.”

Just at that moment, there was a lull in the conversation between Kamela and Jas, so they heard what he said. I looked at Jas as we all continued to walk into the castle and the expression on her face was telling. At lunch, I knew that were going to have a very interesting conversation.

As we gave our respective mates a simple kiss goodbye, Josh and I parted from them together. We had kingly duties to attend to while Kamela and Jas left to continue planning the wedding. My hope is that it will be a fast morning so that I could get back to my mate and have “the talk.” You know the one. Where we determine what our future will look like together.

What was I thinking that things would work out between James and I. When King Josh had made the comment about James and my future, I pretended not to hear it. Even though I had my hands full this morning, that one comment kept coming back to haunt me. Now James and I will most likely spend our lunch having a heated discussion about it.

To stay on focused, I’m going to push it to the back of my mind so that I can concentrate on the wedding details. I know that it’s going to be a lot to fit everything into one week, yet we are going to pull out all of the stops to get everything done. I will bring everyone in from my company to help with this wedding, which should be enough hands to get everything done.

Because I know how important it is to Kamela that everything flows smoothly, I had a side conversation with James’ mother, Katherine, to let her know that I would rather take on as much of the decisions and implementation plans that I can. That way, Kamela won’t get too stressed out. Since she and I have been talking about her wedding plans for years, I know exactly what she’s looking for in a wedding and have it all documented in a “Kamela Wedding Book”.

Things are flowing wonderfully and we are getting a lot accomplished which is great. While finishing up a
