Genesis watched her brother, Gabriel walk past her to hug Drew.

“Marrack, Lil’ G. is right, you did your thing tonight, I’m happy for you man.”

He released Drew from his embrace and turned in her direction, placing a firm hand on her upper arm. For anyone watching, it looked like he was gently guiding her in the crowded room. Only Genesis felt the biting pinch of Gabriel’s fingers and nails cutting into her skin.

Gabriel turned his head back to Drew and Gavon and gave the two a brief smile before turning his attention back to Genesis. He leaned closely into Genesis’ ear as he tightened his grip on her arm.

“What are you doing here?” he asked her.

“Gabriel, why do we have to do this tonight? I’m here because Drew asked me to accompany him tonight.”

‘Genesis it’s one thing to be draped all over his arm at a televised media event, but right now, Drew doesn’t need you.”

Genesis pulled her arm from Gabriel’s grip.

“Gabriel I do not take orders from you,” she said through clenched teeth. “Drew wants me here, and I’m going to stay here.”

Gabriel smiled at his sister, his hatred for her evident in every line of his face.

“I have warned you to stay away from Drew, if you won’t listen to me, then I can’t be held responsible for my actions. You are forcing my hand.”

Genesis’ frustration with Gabriel was becoming more evident with the tightened tick of her jaw. Gabriel’s behavior was bordering on harassment, and she was fast reaching her patience limit. She stepped back from her brother hoping the distance she placed between them would dampen her rising temper.

“Gabriel, I do not answer to you. Just leave me alone, and I’ll do the same for you.”

Gabriel shook his head.

“Not a fucking chance in hell dear sister, not a chance in hell.”

Genesis unwilling to ruin Drew’s night with the enmity between herself and her brother walked away from Gabriel and returned to Drew’s side.
