’66 CONVERTIBLE. Superficially, the 1966 Mustang (available October 1, 1965) was little changed from the original introduced a year and a half earlier. It offered exterior trim changes (including new-appearance wheel covers), different engine choices, and a new instrument panel. The new model continued to sell uninterruptedly at a record pace. (N.)
