“Claws?” asked Laurie. The coin had been made to look as though a bird or animal was clutching it.

“It’s like the foot of an iron eagle,” said Nabster.

Kennedy read aloud.

“A famous king’s cash!”

“Majestic money!”

“No wonder it’s worth a lot. It’s the only one in the world!”

“Can you imagine going into a shop for some sweets and trying to pay with that?” asked Nabster.

“You could buy the shop!” laughed Laurie.

They stared at the valuable coin before wandering through the rest of the ‘Splash the Cash’ exhibition, but nothing helped them learn why coins might be scattered round a museum donations container.

Nabster stopped at a giant screen split into quarters. He stood in front of it, hypnotised. The film was of machinery rolling out new banknotes and each of the four quarters of the screen showed the process from a different angle. “This has given me an idea,” he said. “I’ll tell Zoe we don’t want just one robot to help with filming. We want lots! That way we’ll have different camera angles on the donations container and the entrance hall.”

Kennedy and Laurie looked at the screen. They shrugged at each other, but Nabster had a familiar grin on his face – one that usually meant he had come up with a brilliant technical fix.
