There was a tiny splash.

The monster made a noise that is difficult to describe, but if I had to spell it, it would look like this: “WAAAAOOONOO.”

(Maybe there should be a few Fs and Ps and Hs in there, too. Spelling noises is rather difficult. If you haven’t tried it before, you should. But not right now. This simply isn’t the right time.)

“What was that?” the sister-monster called from the kitchen.
