While preparing for dinner, I try to figure out exactly what I’m going to say to Tasha. Since I already know she’s off her rocker a bit, I must approach the situation with caution. Firing someone is not easy, but this is going to be a serious challenge. I need to find out what happened to Michael.
The doorbell rings, and I take my time answering it. The person rings it two more times before I finally open the door. When I do, I see Nadia’s five-foot self-standing there. Her shoulder-length hair is pulled back into a single ponytail, so all of her facial features can be seen clearly in the moonlight. Her almond shaped eyes are gleaming, and her eyebrows are perfectly arched. It’s hard for me to believe she does not get them done. Her skin tone is a beautiful, deep milk chocolate, and her hazel eyes are perfectly juxtaposed against her even tone.
“Nadia, what are you doing here? You look amazing.”
“I know it’s unorthodox for me to just pop up on you like this, but I wanted to see you. Looks like you're getting ready to go out, though. I’m sorry. This was inappropriate. Please forgive me. I’m gonna go.”
“No, it’s okay. I’m getting ready for dinner. Come in.”
“I’ll only stay a few minutes then. Please don’t be upset. I don’t know what I was thinking. I’ll never pop up on you again.”
“It’s cool, but a call would have given me some time to prepare for your visit.”
“You know what? I can go. Get ready for your dinner, okay?”
She is about to turn around and head toward the door, but I stop her.
“No, stay. I can get ready and talk to you at the same time.”
“What time do you need to leave?”
“In about an hour. I’m taking Tasha out to dinner tonight.”
“Oh, that’s nice.”
“Not really. I have to fire her.”
She laughs. “What? You’re taking her to dinner to fire her?”
“I love your laugh, you know that? It’s good to laugh. Anyway, we planned the dinner the other night, but since then, I found out I have to fire her.”
“What happened?”
“Long story. Don’t want to get into it. Come upstairs with me.”
We go into my bedroom and sit on the bed for a minute to talk. I sense Nadia is nervous, so I open the balcony doors to let in some fresh air. When I do that, over at Mrs. Johnson’s house, the light in the room directly across from my house goes out.
That shit is too much of a coincidence.
I walk back over to the bed and kiss Nadia on the neck. She tenses up a little when I brush my tongue across her ear. I place my nose against hers and tell her if she wants it, she has to make the first move, and then I make my way to the bathroom.
I’m letting my libido get the best of me, and I need to stop it before someone gets hurt. I’m in a messed up place emotionally and mentally, and I don’t need to drag anyone further into my mess.
