Chapter Five

One of the most important understandings for any believer to have is that there is only one Savior—and we are not Him. Christ is our Savior. He is our Perfector. He is the Miracle Worker. He is the Healer. And it is only by His life working in and through us that others experience the goodness of God. However, we cannot will people into God’s Kingdom or force them to receive healing. Quite the opposite. Although Jesus was the propitiation for all mankind, mankind has to individually accept His sacrifice for himself. Just as we cannot receive salvation or healing on behalf of another, neither are we held responsible for whether or not they receive the Truths of scripture or God’s provision.

Faith is important. Faith is how we access the promises that God’s grace has provided. While healing is only one of the many provisions included in His grace (John 1:16), we must remember that whether or not a person receives from God is not based on us. The Bible says,

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13

…who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again… Hebrews 11:33-35
