I shifted that night again, hoping to get some information out of Morgan, but she didn’t tell me a thing, not why she screamed or what she saw. Nothing.

It didn’t matter how much I begged, she just closed her eyes when I pushed her too much, then took a deep breath and I found myself awake in my bed.

She was good at waking up.

I started to regret wishing that she would hate me.

My time with her was getting shorter and shorter when I tried to show her that I cared.

She was starting get closer to Jesse. He was like her shadow whenever she wasn’t working, chatting her up in the hallways. And she always pretended not to see me when I passed her.

She had no idea how that made me feel. It made me feel like I didn’t exist, but on the other hand, I was glad that she seemed to be getting over me so easily.

But that didn’t stop me from wanting to bash Jesse’s head into the wall.

I knew where this was going to go. Thank fuck I wouldn’t be here to see it.
