JERMAINE

Amanda arrived in Jamaica. Before she went to tend to Jermaine, she wanted to enjoy the island. Celeste had made her lose her mind. She needed some peace and relaxation before she could be of any use to Jermaine.

While she was on the beach, she received an urgent message. She was forwarded a post from Facebook. The information could be very incriminating but she couldn’t find the original source. She didn’t have a very good internet connection on the beach. She thought it was just the area and marked the message as read, and went back to enjoying her time in the sun.

When she finally reached Jermaine, he nearly wept in joy. He was at her mercy and so thankful that she had come. “Thank you for coming.”

“You’re welcome. Jermaine, I must tell you as you may already know, you are in a real sticky situation. I mean, you want me to convince a jury that Travis set it up for you to come to Jamaica to find your dead girlfriend to frame you for murder?”

“I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. I didn’t kill Dasia. I loved her.”

“Jermaine, you have to give me more. How did anyone know you were coming to Jamaica where she was?”

“I don’t know; I didn’t tell anyone. I just don’t know. Somehow, Travis knew and he set me up.”

Amanda wanted to help Jermaine, but she knew that Celeste would eat her up if she went in with the lack of evidence that Jermaine was giving her. She thought back to the Hit List that she’d received in her email. If she could connect Travis or Celeste to the list, then maybe she could prove they were capable of setting Jermaine up for Dasia’s murder. It was a farfetched theory and she knew it, but it was worth the try to take Celeste down. She pulled out her phone; there was no internet connection at all. She could not pull up her email or any other internet source.

“I am not saying no, but I am saying that you have given me a hard case to represent. If I find enough evidence to clear you, then I will take the case. Otherwise, you are on your own.”

“That’s fair. Well, can you at least get some money to me from my account? I am struggling in here. I have nothing. But on the outside I have plenty of money.”

“Give me your account number and I will add it to your commissary.” Jermaine did as he was told. He didn’t know if he could really trust her, so he gave her the account with the least money in it. “I will have you some money added soon.” She walked out of the room and the guard came back to get him and return him back to his cell.

Jermaine prayed that his day in this hell hole would soon to come to an end. Little did he know, but his prayers would soon be answered. He filed back to his cell like the rest of the inmates.
