Perhaps it was the night of lovemaking that invigorated me for the following day of the conference, or maybe the speakers were just generally more interesting. Whatever the reason, Sunday flew by without me noticing. I had texted the girls to let them know I would be out for the night, relishing my time in Wyatt’s arms until dawn snuck up on us. Neither of us had slept a wink, but I didn’t regret it.

I didn’t get a chance to see Wyatt again until the dinner reception that night, and I took special pains to get ready, ensuring that I looked perfect.

“Red is your color,” Molly complimented me as I exited the bedroom in my dress, slipping a pair of dangling silver earrings to my lobes. She looked beautiful herself, her blonde hair swept off her neck, showing off a sparkling diamond necklace that sat between her swelling cleavage.

“Ryker is going to lose his mind when he sees a picture of you like this,” I teased her.

“No social media allowed,” Molly reminded me.

I hadn’t forgotten the rules of the conference. No pictures or social media. No video. The first rule of the Astral Association was, ‘we don’t talk about the Astral Association.’ As far as the rest of the world was aware, we didn’t exist.

“I haven’t seen any of Ryker’s guys out here this weekend,” I said, remembering that Molly had mentioned their presence.

She shifted uncomfortably and looked at the mirror over the writing desk, fluffing her hair.

“They haven’t been able to get in,” she admitted. “Ryker called yesterday, a little miffed that his security team was barred from entry.”

I barely managed to hide my smile.

“I told him not to send them,” Molly grumbled.

It gave me comfort to know that Wyatt had things handled. Nothing was going to penetrate the conference, not on his watch.

“He’s your mate,” I said nonchalantly. “He just wants you to be safe.”

“He forgets that Wyatt is your mate and won’t let anything happen to you,” Molly replied.

I met her eyes across the room, heat rushing to my face.

“Do you think that other people know?” I asked softly.

She snorted. “Of course. That’s not something that’s hidden, Steph. Mates have a bond stronger than anything. What you and Wyatt have, what me and Ryker have, it’s undeniable.”

Missy burst into the room through the adjoining door, Ali on her heels.

“I’m starving!” she declared. “Are you two almost ready?”

She looked just as stunning in a silver, mid-thigh dress that shimmered as she moved. Ali was dressed more conservatively in a navy silk dress, her dark hair pinned up into a chignon, bangs sorted to the side, revealing her bright, blue eyes.

“Let’s go,” Molly agreed, grabbing her key card from the table by the front door and leading us into the hallway of the hotel.

The Astral Association took up the entire ballroom of the Hyatt, and I’d never seen such a group of impressive-looking people in one place. This was saying a lot considering the black-tie affairs I’d attended in my years, but the group was more than just well-dressed people, sipping champagne.
