Chapter 10

Snow Heaven

The next morning, Victoria woke and couldn’t remember where she was. She snuggled back under the blanket and rubbed her face against…a hard body…a hot, hard body. Her body stretched out over his, their legs between each other’s. Her hands slid ever so slowly over his muscular chest. He moaned, shifted a smidgeon, and tightened his arms around her. Now this, she could get used to. It had been ages since she’d had a man in her bed…correction…still in her bed in the morning. The few men she’d dated recently never wanted a sleepover, just a quickie, then “so long.” So she “so longed” them right there and then. She slid a hand over his chest again, eliciting another moan. I wonder. She eased her hand lower, and he shifted to give her more access. His erection pressed into her lower abdomen. Oh, how I’d enjoy inching even lower.

Instead, she forced her hand higher. She unfastened a few of his shirt buttons so her fingers could rest on his bare flesh. His breathing quickened, and his erection hardened even more. Now this was the way to wake up in a morning. A hot man stretched out under her, one ready for a lot more. She sighed and relaxed. Just a little while longer to enjoy this before I have to get up.

Fingers stroked the side of her face.

“Not yet, just a few more minutes,” she mumbled. “I’m having such a good dream.”

“Victoria…honey…I need to get up.” A deep voice rumbled in her ear.

“Okay.” She shifted to the side as she eased awake. A muscular body shifted under her. Oh…yeah…Dragon was under there. She sighed and yawned, stretching her arms and legs out to their full extent. Her fingers stretched wide, curled up, widened again, and finally relaxed. She cracked an eye open to watch him wiggle out. He adjusted himself and headed to the bathroom. A grin stretched across her face. Man, how she would love to see him do that buck-naked. Sitting upright, she glanced around the living room.

Brilliant light streamed in the nearby windows, so she rose and wrapped the fuzzy blanket around her. A trip to the windows showed the whole area blanketed in a deep, fresh snow. They had to be in among the Rocky Mountains and not in the foothills. Only at this altitude would they already have this much snow. Denver had yet to be hit with a big snowstorm. She loved how Denver nestled up against the tall mountains. Each day, she’d take a few moments to enjoy the stately peaks. These views kept her in the area. She couldn’t imagine living any other place. But being out here in the mountains was a whole other story. Her wizarding high school, Aspen Glen, sat among the peaks like this cabin. Her six years there brought a whole new appreciation of these massive ranges. She inhaled slowly, enjoying the cabin’s view. There wasn’t any work she had to finish today, so she might as well enjoy all that fresh snow.
