4 The Biomimicry Institute has set up an online database called AskNature.org, which allows inventors (designers, engineers, architects, etc.) to better connect what they’re trying to do with what nature has to offer. For example, if you want to filter salt from water you type that in and the database will come up with examples showing how nature performs this trick. The goal is to encourage inventors to explore biomimicry and adapt natural mechanisms into their designs.
