My mouth fell open at all the red rose petals scattered on the bed and all over the floor. Candles doused the room in a romantic, sensual glow, and I drew in the soft vanilla scent. A soft chuckle escaped my lips at the box of chocolates at the end of the bed.

“Wow, you did all this for me?” I asked softly as I stepped into the room with him. Had he been planning this? He’d been gone for about ten minutes before, so I guess he’d had time to set this up. But having the roses on hand? He’d definitely been planning something with me.

“I wanted it to be romantic, is this okay? Should I have done more? Or is it too much?” he asked quickly, his voice tinged with worry as he rubbed his arm. I smiled sweetly at him, gazing at those beautiful horns atop his head.

So much for having them under control. But I guess this was nerve-racking for him, being his first time and all.

“This is perfect, I love it,” I assured him as I turned and wrapped my arms around him. “Relax, please. There’s nothing to be stressed about.”

He stared down at me, those dark eyes softening, a wave of relief flooding through them as he hugged me back.

“You know I love you, right, Bug?” I said is I searched those dark pools that stared tenderly at me.

I loved all my hellhounds, I knew that now. A part of me had always loved them, but now it had grown into something greater.

His face lit up ecstatically, and the smile that took over his features made my chest tighten and lurch.

“And I love you too, more than anything. I have for a long time,” he whispered back as his fingers trailed down the side of my face. He gazed at me with a look that made my knees want to give way.

He pulled me against him, lowering his head to brush his lips over mine questioningly. I welcomed him in, moaning softly as his tongue darted past my lips.

His hands slid down my arms, leaving fiery tingles in their wake as my body burned in response.

I led us over to the bed, my hands trailing up his arms before settling around his neck as I kissed him hungrily. I loved how his excitement was straining against his pants and pushing into my lower stomach. It only fired me up more, and his kiss was becoming more frantic as well, more passionate.

I played with the buttons on his shirt, and he got the hint, helping me undo them and shrugging it off while still kissing me.

He couldn’t seem to get enough of me, nor I him.

His shyness and uncertainty had faded away now, which I was grateful for.

One hand settled on the back of my head as he carefully angled me to dive his tongue deeper into my mouth.

I moaned as I ran my fingers over those taut biceps, dragging them down his shoulders and across his lean, toned pecs.
