After leaving the restaurant, Peter dropped me off at home. I called my cousin Amber back and invited her and our friend Helen over. I was so excited when they agreed, because I need some girl time.

While I began freshening up the living room, I got lonely and decided to call a friend. We talked for about an hour before he had to go. So I put on my Beyonce CD and continued to prepare my house for my company.

Just as I began putting the snacks out, there was a knock on the door.

“Hello ladies,” I said opening the door.

“Hey chick long time no see,” Amber said hugging me and walking into the house.

“You know Peter keeps her under lock and key,” Helen said wobbling her pregnant self in the house.

I just smiled and followed them into the living room.

“So ladies what have you been up to?” I asked pouring a glass of wine for myself.

“Well I found out I’m having a girl,” Helen said pulling out her ultrasound.

“I know Tim must be excited to be having a little princess to spoil,” Amber said reaching for the wine.

“Actually he is still pissed that I decided to keep the baby in the first place. He actually had the nerve to ask Peter if he was going to be performing the procedure,” Helen said grabbing a hand full of grapes.

“Now you know he must be serious, because your husband can’t stand my husband,” I said also grabbing some grapes.

“Tim is acting like a spoiled bitch if you ask me. I mean if he didn’t want you to get pregnant than he should’ve wrapped it up,” replied Amber.

“He was wrapping it up, but I was poking holes in the condoms,” Helen responded grabbing a bottle of water.

“Why would you do that knowing that he didn’t want any more kids,” I asked looking at her like she was stupid.

“Because I noticed that he wasn’t paying me any attention. He started working longer and only spending time with me if Billy was involved. And when Billy went to school it got worse, he pretty much stop spending time with me. Sex became a chore to him,” Helen said with tears in her eyes.

“What you mean sex became a chore,” asked Amber passing her a Kleenex.

“We only have sex on Wednesdays, every two weeks,” she said wiping the tears from her eyes.

I sat back and listened to her and Amber go back and forth about Tim. Listening to them made me realize how much I love Peter. I think I should plan something special for him to show him how much I appreciate him.

“Earth to Pattie,” Amber said snapping her fingers in my face.

“What,” I responded pushing her hand out of my face.

“What advice do you give Helen on her marriage?” she said pouring some more wine in her glass.

“Helen I think you and Tim should go to counseling. So you can tell him about what you did and why you did it. Trust me you will feel better once he knows the truth.
