Chapter 1

The celebration was off the chain. King sat at the head of the table, next to Marco his mentor and longtime friend. He smiled thinking about how far they had come. They looked more like a bunch of Wall Street investors instead of drug dealers. Suited up, tatted up and drinking some the best liquor man had made.

Marco stood up unbuttoning the jacket of his fine Italian suit. Standing a little over 6 feet tall he could have easily been mistaken for a super model. He had that dark, chiseled look, not exactly handsome and yet manly attractive. Marco was a man’s man in every sense of the word. Leader was written all over him. He raised his glass in a toast. And the sparkle and bling from his ring, flashed everyone in the room.

“My brothers, oh and sister,” he said referring to Big Cissy, the only girl in the group. “We have reached our milestone and now it is time for us to celebrate.” The group applauded. “But, hold up now we ain’t done. We got a big shipment coming in and that shit has to move fast. Stand up King!”

King stood up to more applause. Marco put his arm around him and hugged his brother. “Thanks to this nigga here, we on some new shit. That’s why I’m promoting him to first lieutenant.”

“King!” everyone hollered in salute.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Marco continued, but well deserved. This brother worked really hard at being a leader, a doer and this just goes to show what you can do with a little or nothing.”

Marco pulled out a black box and handed it to King. King opened it and found a gold encrusted Rolex watch. His eyes lit up.

“Awe man, thanks! Damn!” King said hugging Marco.

“Well deserved Bruh, now let’s pop some bottles!”

Later that evening after most of the crew had left, Marco called King back into his office. This was the only black drug dealer that he knew had a Buckhead office complete with a receptionist. King straightened out his tie and smiled at his reflection in the mirrored elevator. He was on the come up and soon he thought he would have an office just like this.

“King! Marco greeted him when he stepped off of the elevator. Come on man, follow me. Refresh my memory. Is this your first time?”

“Yes, my first time. It’s really nice.” King said checking out the office digs. Everything was black and white. White leather couches with black tables in the reception area was some of the nicest shit he had ever seen. The office was even better laid out, with a huge cherry mahogany wood desk and cabinet, a large 50 inch flat screen TV and a bar. Three quarters of the office was all windows and King could see all the way to Turner Field.

“You know if you keep up the good work, this could be you.
