Maintaining the Breakthrough

When a couple receives a breakthrough, no matter how significant or life changing it seems to be, it must be maintained until it becomes a lifestyle. We have found that blessing the spirit is an effective component in turning marriage breakthroughs into lifestyle changes.

Not long ago, a couple came to one of our five-day workshops. They had never had the depth of connection they longed for. There were important hidden events they had never told each other about. Additionally, in their 20 years in ministry, there were some significantly damaging things that had come against them, which they had never taken the time to work through. During the first day, the wife got so upset that she wanted to leave and go home. Fortunately, they had travelled a long distance, so this was not an option. As they gingerly maneuvered their way through the workshop, dealing with the unexpected issues that arose, the Holy Spirit brought tremendous breakthrough and hope. To their surprise, they began experiencing the depth of emotional intimacy that had always eluded them. It was incredible to see the change the Lord was bringing to this precious couple.

About a year later, we had the privilege of spending some time with this couple. It was so exciting to hear and see how well they were doing. They definitely had continued to use the tools from the LAM workshop and were being very intentional about using them. One of the tools they used almost daily was the Spirit Blessing for Couples. This had become so much a part of their lives that they felt the loss keenly on the days they were unable to do it. It was so confirming to hear how much this simple little tool was not only maintaining their spiritual and emotional connection but was actually nurturing and growing it as well.
