By now, withdrawals of standard London Country RTs were beginning to bite, and here a group of them are awaiting disposal in Grays Garage on 11 August 1971. Both route cuts and conversion of their routes to SM or RF OMO caused this. RT3160, 4752, 4761 and 4745 are nearest the camera here. Note the new chassis in store behind them, for what, I no longer recall.

To further the demise of Country RTs, Green Line RMCs were also increasingly being used on bus duties. Grays’ own RMC1466 loads up at Grays War Memorial on local route 300.
