LAKOTA WISHED HE COULD say the same for his morning. The meeting dragged on as the topic came to the warehouses, which were filled with items that were not moving. Elder after Elder made proposals which he basically ignored while he searched the internet for a gif of Thumper. Happy to locate the perfect one, he sent a text to his wife. The corners of his mouth turned up and he showed teeth with a wide smile. This caught the attention of the Tribal Chief.

“Lakota, is there an idea you wish to share with us all on this situation?” the Tribal Chief inquired.

“Nope. Not at all,” he answered, going back to his phone. At this point in the conversation, the same arguments were not moving the situation or presenting any salient points.

The lunch hour approached and he opted to leave rather than stay another four hours and have the joy sucked from his soul. His father stopped him.

“You’re leaving?”

“N'dadan,” Lakota said, facing his father. “They are speaking in circles and saying nothing that hasn’t been spoken before, none of which moves or fixes the circumstance. Opening a second retail store is only going to increase the overhead and expenses of an additional location.”

“Then you need to think of something to help,” Askuwheteau told his son.

He nodded to his father and headed for home. He wanted to spend the rest of the afternoon with his wife, show her the place he called home on the reservation, and maybe teach her a few new words in his language. At least, that was his plan.
