Physical Is as Physical Does

If you are a strong physical empath, your body can benefit from physical activities to rebalance itself after an empathic experience. I’m an extreme physical empath and have found that the following activities nourish and reenergize me.

Take an Epsom Salt Bath

Epsom salts are famous among esoterics and empaths for recalibrating the nervous system and pulling others’ energies, as well as negative forces like solar winds, out of the body. Follow the directions on the package and let yourself linger in the water for as long as possible. I also recommend that you add a drop or two of the following essential oils to the water, as long as you aren’t allergic to them:

lavender: Calms and soothes. Frees you from others’ frenetic or disturbed energies.

rose: Releases the energies of those you are concerned about. Very useful if you continue to sense or think about a subject’s physical condition and feel powerless to help.

eucalyptus: Useful if you hold on to another’s physical discomfort, including bruising, pain, and achiness.

frankincense: This mystically charged oil connects you and those you were empathizing with to the holiest of spirits, which can free you of unnecessary energies.

Essential Oils

To support healthy empathic boundaries, you can also use the just-listed essential oils topically, usually by mixing a drop or two in a carrier oil such as almond oil, and also through aromatherapy. Follow the directions given on the oil packages or aromatherapy dispensers.

Gemstones and Other Rocks

There are specific stones that are useful for the physical empath. While you are performing any of the exercises offered in this chapter, you can hold one, put it in a pocket, or use it as jewelry. Many physical empaths also fill their houses with gemstones or rocks in order to sustain their empathic boundaries and filter out unwanted data. If you use a stone frequently, cleanse it by setting it outside in the sunlight, moonlight, or rain for twenty-four hours or by putting it in a glass jar that contains a tablespoon of Epsom salts and enough water to cover the stone completely. You can shake the jar for a few minutes and then set it outside for twenty-four hours. Then empty the container and use the stone again whenever you desire.

For the purpose of physical empathy, I recommend the following stones:

mountain rocks: Limestone, shale, and other mountain rocks are very grounding and will help you separate from others’ energies.

herkimer diamond: When these quartz crystals are contained in the dark volcanic stone that surrounds them, they cleanse you and others of negative energy and ground all concerned in everyday reality.

agates: Agates separate your body and physical energies from the same in others.

garnets and rubies: These bright red stones ignite your personal life energy and keep you nourished during and after a physical empathy interaction.

Pink Flannel

What if you are adversely affected by the negativity of technology? Maybe you are EMF sensitive or feel traumatized after watching a violent scene on the news. Pink flannel absorbs negative electromagnetic activity and can help transform those energies into neutral or helpful energies.
