Stir in the garlic and flour and cook for 2 minutes more. Stir in the wine, cook for 1 minute, and add the stock. Bring the soup to a boil, reduce the heat to simmer, and cook for 15 minutes. Stir in the potatoes, reserved chicken, and the remaining 1 teaspoon salt. Return the soup to a gentle simmer and cook until the potatoes are just tender, about 15 minutes longer. Stir in the milk.
