Some Covenants we make are only for a season. The Covenant you make with the local department store each time you purchase an item is a seasonal Covenant. Most stores guarantee their products for thirty or ninety days. The Covenant made with a bakery for a wedding cake is just for a season, until the day of the wedding. The Covenant I made to pray with Sandy was not for the rest of our lives, but for a season.

I discovered that Sandy had a unique ability to pray and reach the heart of God. She was sincere, and wholly devoted to the Lord, even though her life had many frustrations. I also discovered that she wasn’t interested in praying only for herself, but for my needs as well. She never asked questions that would compromise my position as the pastor’s wife.
