CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

Josef drove his truck, with his Mother, Juan and the babies in it. He went straight to Buford’s house, while Tag and Rob both met Blair, who was driving her truck, at their gates with their Wives, Tag’s Sisters and Heinrich. No one seemed to know what Buford and Josef were up to! They pulled up just as the two of them were getting ready to leave. There was a car of security men there, some of them stayed with Blair and the women, some of them went with Josef and Buford. They didn’t go to town too often.

Josef walked from Buford’s house when Blair drove up, and briefly to help each of the women down. He quickly noticed Juan hovering around Dana, who was smiling at him coyly, coughing into her hand nervously when she noticed Josef watching the two of them! Josef turned his attention to Greta, then whispered, “Greta, you’re glowing! I wonder why?” Arching an eyebrow. She said nothing to him, pushing him against the shoulder, and walking into the house. The boys were already inside, settled into their carriers. Buford stood talking with Matilda, his face creased in worry.

“Don’t you go into labor before I get back. Next month is soon enough!” He then turned to Rachel and told her the same thing, hugging her briefly. “Heinrich, Juan you keep an eye on all of them!” Buford said laughing. Buford kissed his Mother and Aunt’s last, thinking, “That boy must really have a crush on Helena, to brave a whole day with all these women!” He already KNEW that Juan was just here to talk to Dana! Tag was slipping!

Josef walked back outside with Blair, and kissed her goodbye, just as they heard a helicopter approaching. It set down a bit away from them, then after the blades slowed down, Franz got out and came to Josef.

“Mein Fuhrer, I wish you had called us! We were supposed to fly Reinhard home, but it seems his fiancée has come here! She’s in town! I figured we’d go get her, need a ride?”

Josef and Buford both looked at each other, and laughed, before going back to the helicopter with Franz. Reinhard was inside, looking as excited as he could. “Mein Fuhrer, someone just called from the airport in town for her! They said she had a surprise for me, and couldn’t wait to get here, so she came on ahead. You don’t mind do you?”

“Of course not. As soon as we’re done, we’ll fly back. If you want, you can fly all the way home, I’ll drive back.” Josef waved the security men on, and soon, they all took off.

They reached town in no time. Josef enjoyed the helicopter, it was fast, and silent. Franz and Wils enjoyed flying it more than the plane, that was evident. They got off, and waited for Reinhard to get down. He went into the small airport, and emerged with a woman who remarkably looked like one of Tag’s Sisters!
