Nicor switched the phone on silent then placed it on the wireless charging pad he had on his bedside table.

Rolling over, Nicor pulled the dooner up to his chin, hugged a pillow close, and closed his eyes. Sleep took him immediately.

The ping of Jordan's phone let him know he'd received a message. He stopped packing the car and glanced at his phone. His smile was instant when he saw who it was from. He didn't bother replying then as the message said Nik was going to bed, he'd reply later. Jordan shoved his phone back in his pocket and went back to packing his car. The sooner he left, the sooner he could see Nik again.

It took Jordan less than an hour to finish packing the house up before he was on his way home. He stopped at a little café in the valley to grab a to-go coffee and croissant then started his drive back to the Big Smoke.

Traffic was light thankfully, probably because it was mid-week. If he'd been on a Sunday or Monday, the traffic conditions would be vastly different.

He arrived home late morning and Jordan sighed as he waited for his garage door to open. He was glad to be home and sad all at the same time.

Jordan wondered if he should message Nicor, and then figured against it, he'd give him a couple more hours, as his mate was probably still sleeping off the hunt from the night before. He didn't even know what it was exactly they were in town hunting. No one had mentioned that to him and he hadn't thought to ask. Maybe he should have.

He took his time to unpack his car. His house and studio were climate controlled, unlike his garage. All his completed works, he left to the side in the living room, as he'd take them to Mandy in a day or so when he finalised the last couple. They were almost done as it was.

Jordan grabbed a snack, then locked himself in his studio for the rest of the morning. He needed to concentrate to get the last little details done on these paintings. And if it helped him forget his mate was no longer by his side, even better.
