Chapter Five

Esther snuggled deeper under the blankets. She turned, burrowing into the warm, firm pillow. Soap and another unfamiliar scent…she wrinkled her nose. It wasn’t the lotion and baby powder smell she had grown used to when she cuddled Emun.

She skimmed her hand down and the soft cotton of Elias’s sleep pants filled her palm. Her pillow shifted, draping his thigh over her hip and wrapping his arm around her waist.

“Baby, I want to fuck you like it’s the apocalypse and tomorrow may never come.” Elias spoke against her temple before rubbing his jaw against her skin. The hard length of his cock grazed her thigh.

Oh my God. Where the hell was Emun? He always slept between them. She squeezed her hands between them, thrusting him off her.

“You feel so damn good.” He brushed his mouth across her lids.

Was this a new form of sleepwalking—sleep-fucking?

“Elias.” Her body was betraying her, her nipples tightened and she rolled her hips, grinding against his erection.

“Hmm.”

Banging started on their bedroom door.

She opened her eyes to find Elias peering at her. The rhythmic background noise slowly muted. Her reflection was in his eyes. She licked her lips and skated her tongue along her teeth to work up moisture in her mouth.

“Don’t do that.” He rose up on his elbows. “If we ignore whoever is at the door, do you think they will go away?”

Unsure if she would be able to find her voice, Esther shook her head. His hair fell forward and the ends of his curls caught on the scruff on his cheek. She combed her fingers through his hair, the soft tendrils like silk sliding across her palm. Gently she slid her hand down his face to caress his jaw. This gorgeous man was hers for another few days.

He covered his hand over hers, holding it in place. Elias dipped his head, rubbing the tip of his nose across hers. “You are an amazing, intelligent, beautiful woman. Emun and I are lucky to have met you and to be a part of your life, if only for a brief time.” He angled his head, pressing his lips against her mouth.

His tongue writhed with hers, her bottom lip was sucked between his teeth. She wrapped her arm around his neck and he gripped her hips, pinning her down. She wanted all of him in her body, his essence piercing her soul. Her pleasure took the place of her common sense.

They had only known each other four days and there was still three left to their faux relationship. Their alliance couldn’t be considered the norm by anyone’s standards.

The pounding resumed and the knob rattled. “Don’t make me come in there.” Zell’s tone was like a bucket of cold water dousing Esther’s body. The door cracked open. “You already got one baby and I’m sure you see each other daily…”

“Jesus be a condom!” Queenie sang in the background.

Elias flipped over and stretched his arms, folding them under his head. “Aunt Zell, I’m hoping to make you a great-aunt four, maybe five times more.
