OWLET SURVIVAL GUIDE
Section A: Signs of Predation
The great outdoors can offer scouts a place to relax and reconnect with nature. However, it is imperative that scouts respect nature and its inhabitants. While many of the fauna that scouts are likely to encounter are nonthreatening, like raccoons, rabbits, and other small rodents, scouts may encounter larger animals, like bears and moose. These animals can become more aggressive during mating season or if humans are in the immediate vicinity of their offspring. For the safety of the troop, all scouts should be on the lookout for signs of predation and avoid activity in areas where large, potentially aggressive animals and predators might be active.
