3. Seek the support of others

Talking with others can be very hard. If we have only ever heard homosexuality being spoken of in strongly negative terms in church, then we may feel uneasy about speaking to other believers about our own experiences of homosexual feelings.

Sometimes Christians experiencing SSA feel as if they are letting the side down by having these feelings, or that their Christian friends and even pastors will be disappointed in them. But we are never letting anyone down when we share a struggle. Actually, it is an enormous privilege to have another Christian share a personal struggle with us. All of us are weak! No Christian is designed to struggle alone. All Christians need the support of others. We are called to “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6 v 2).
