TRUST IN THE PROCESS

One of the more difficult things to accomplish in handling this developmental work sounds deceptively simple: trust.

It is not an easy task to surrender to the thoughts and emotions imparted to you from this invisible realm, especially after I just told you about the “bad guys” who want to prey on your vulnerability, ego, and fear. This is why this book is written and laid out in the manner it is. I wanted you to have the information about the subject matter first, before the application. Remember I said that I had my reasons? One of them is because of my past successful experience in mentoring my student, Jonathan Louis. My greatest accomplishment in being a teacher in this field so far was assisting Jonathan on his spiritual path to becoming a professional medium.

His backstory from my perspective is simple. When Jonathan and I first became friends, he had absolutely no interest in what I did professionally. Actually, he was one of the only people I knew who really didn’t care about who “John Edward the medium” was; instead, he wanted to know me. I used to tease him all the time by jokingly asking him, “When are you going to read one of my books?” Jonathan’s answer was priceless: “Why read the book when the author can just share his story personally over lunch?” Point made. Well, his Guides and mine clearly had an important mission in mind. They had me tell him all about my work and my experiences as a medium. What I thought were just simple casual conversations were actually training classes for him, preparing him for his own journey of development. When the time was right and our Guides told us that Jonathan was to be officially trained, it was like throwing a big electrical switch: all the lights came flooding on in that instant. He had years of theory under his belt before the instructional side even started. All of those “philosophy lessons” followed by intensive training have made him quite an accurate and successful professional medium in his own right.

I have written this book very much in the same style of my mentoring of Jonathan: I have given much of the theory and philosophy up front, before embarking on the application. Again, this is not so you can follow in his footsteps, but instead so you can create your own. You must listen to your Team of Guides and allow them to assist you in learning the lessons you are here on this Earth to learn, which does not necessarily mean that you will be a professional psychic … in all likelihood you won’t. However, if you are supposed to do this work, you will know when the timing is right. The Universe will make it clear what instrument you are to play in its energetic orchestra. Whatever role you choose, just don’t feed the monster lurking within. If you do, all the ability in the world won’t be able to save you from yourself.
