CHAPTER ELEVEN

Tangerine

I had called Prince’s phone for hours last night and he didn’t answer me not one time. I hope that he wasn’t with some bitch because I was getting tired of him cheating on me. Last time he cheated on me, he had a baby with that trick Zoey and she has made our lives a living hell. I don’t know how he even went in that bitch without a condom when we didn’t even have any kids together. Thinking about that bitch brought me back to the day I found out that she was pregnant and that he had been cheating on me for the past year of our two year relationship.

I was in Walmart picking up some things for my apartment when I met eyes with this girl. I didn’t know her and for that matter, I had never even seen her before so I wondered why she was looking at me. I moved from the housewares aisle to the bathroom aisle and she followed me. I picked out some bath towels then proceeded to the electronics department because I wanted to get a new Blu-ray disc player and she still followed me. I finally decided to stop and ask her what the hell her problem was.

“Do I know you?” I asked her.

“No, but maybe it’s time we met. I’m Zoey, Prince’s baby mama,” she said as she patted her round belly.

I know the color drained from my face as I stared at her with an open mouth. “What?” I said to her.

“I don’t feel the need to repeat myself because I’m that sure you heard what I said the first time. I have been seeing Prince for the past year and was wondering since y’all didn’t have kids together and we’re expecting, if you would just drop out his life and leave him alone,” she said.

Who the fuck did this bitch think she was? Even if I did believe her, which I didn’t, why would I leave my man so she can have him? She said they had been together for a year but Prince and I had been in a relationship for almost two years, so how is it that he could have been sleeping with her when we were together and I didn’t even know?

“I don’t believe you,” I said and tried to go around her.

She stepped in front of my shopping cart, pulled out her phone and said, “I figured you were one of those dumb chicks who wouldn’t believe me without seeing it for yourself. Here, take a look.”

She shoved the phone in my face and scrolled through numerous pictures of her and Prince together. Some of them were at restaurants, some of them were on the beach, and there were even a couple of nude pics of the two of them. I was dumbfounded as I looked at the pictures. I couldn’t believe he would do me like this. I was hurt to the core but I would be damned if I let this heifer see me shed one tear.
