The pen which you have will be empowered further in this chapter, in fact it is something which is incredibly important because you should not go around with an instrument of the occult which is not as empowered as you can make it because if you empower something it is usually best to do a good job and to empower it as fully as you can. Therefore I will draw upon the power of a type of occultism which is very misunderstood and this is Voodoo. The reason it is so misunderstood is that it is always linked with dark magick and so people do not realise its capability for light magick too. In fact in many ways Voodoo is a combination of Christianity with other beliefs: mostly African but others too. It is very structured like Christianity, in that there is one god but in voodoo you cannot contact this god directly and communication directly is impossible. But voodoo also has a doorway entity: an entity which can allow other entities other than god to be communicated with: and the name of this entity is Papa Legba. But all of these entities are called loa: this means that they are below god but also somehow flow from him. But these loa have practical magical power which we can draw on, however do not get the idea that this belief system is not varied because there is as much variety within voodoo as within any religion. But we do not have to worship anything to use these entities because we as occultists do not have to worship: we have the power to command. It is good to remember that these entities all have different traits and uses, but we also can use them together. But the most important loa of all is Papa Legba because without him no other loa can be contacted, although as we should know that Papa Legba is not just there to open gateways but also to clear away obstacles in our life: this means that Papa Legba is the only loa who can be used independently. We need to draw on his power and to ask him to open the gateway to the other realm so that any other loa can get through: be summoned: so we can communicate with them. But it is equally important that we use Papa Legba to close the gateway so that the gates are closed again so that all entities can be sent back. However voodoo can give a lot to our pen and its combination of Christianity and other religions and occultism has formed a powerful magick, a magick that we should be proud to add in terms of power to our pen. Therefore so that our pen has greater power to rewrite reality I will show you now, what you must do.
