Chapter Twelve

Petron and I sat cuddled up on the couch. “Is this what you normally do with a mate?” he asked, glancing up at me.

I nodded my head. “Sure. Being a mate isn’t just about sex. Sure, that is a part of it, but there is more to a relationship than sex. It is about spending time together and having fun together.”

Petron sighed. “I like it. The only time I ever had sex was rough and painful.”

I winced. I hated that he didn’t have a good experience with sex. “It shouldn’t be like that. Sex is supposed to feel nice for both parties. Unfortunately, when you were being bred, the alphas weren’t there to be romantic.”

Petron chuckled. “I don’t know how to be romantic.”

“I don’t think there is a formula for it. What we are doing now, just cuddling while the baby is asleep, is romantic.”

“But that isn’t going to make you want to have sex with me,” Petron replied with a slight frown pulling on his brow.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I’m never going to turn down sex with you. But I don’t want you to think I only want sex from you. That isn’t the case. I enjoy being with you. The more I get to know you, the more I like you. I want to spend time getting to know you further.”

Petron turned on the couch and searched my face. I wasn’t sure what he was looking for, but his slow smile told me he had found what he was looking for.

“I really like you too. You make me feel safe. I trust you. You’re funny and make me feel important.”

“That’s because you are important. You are my fated mate, meaning I will protect you with my life. Regardless of whether we make that official or not.”

“Wait, are you saying you would be okay if I never had sex with you?” he asked with shock.

I nodded my head truthfully. “I would. I can masturbate. There are things I can do to stop feeling horny without insisting on sex. If you never wanted it, and I had to jerk off every day in the shower, then that is what I would do.”

Petron looked at me with wide eyes. “I’ve never masturbated before.”

“Really?” I asked with shock. “You’ve never felt horny? Got hard?”

Petron shrugged. “I’ve been hard before, but I always let it go. It wasn’t the most exciting place to be in that place, sexually.”

“I can understand that.” I licked over my bottom lip as I considered what I was about to offer. “If you want, we could jerk off together.”

“Really?” Petron asked with wide eyes. “Isn’t that something you would want to do in private?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “I wouldn’t want to necessarily do it in front of strangers, but in front of my mate would be alright.”

“Oh, ok, like now?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Whenever you are comfortable. We don’t have to do it now; it can be whenever you want.”

Petron hummed and nodded his head. “I think I would like to do it now.
