During the next few weeks, Kat spent time at her condo most nights, and alternating weekends with her lovers. She had given up the idea of asking Adonis to have a threesome with her and Sexy. Yet, her desire to indulge that fantasy again was intense. So much so, that both men constantly appeared in her dreams.

Although Sexy was no longer angry with Adonis, Adonis couldn't forgive him. He told Kat that he had his own reasons for not wanting to squash things with his former best friend. However, he wouldn't disclose them. That's what started the blow up.

Sexy wanted to know about Kat's progress with ATL. “Did you do what I said?”

“Yes, I wore the sexy lingerie and the beautiful necklace, but I couldn't bring it up that night.”

“What do you mean?”

“Sexy. I don't want to go into any details. I don't tell Adonis about us, and I don't think it's good for me to discuss him with you like this.”

“Kat! You know that's one of the most important things in our relationship, that we know we can discuss anything and everything together,” Sexy argued.

Kat was caught off guard by the ferocity in his voice, and the angry expression on his usually kind face. “X, why are you yelling?”

“I'm not yelling!” But he was.

Kat got out of bed and quietly gathered up her things.

“Where are you going?” She didn't answer. “Not again. Damn it, Katlynne! Why do you run home every time things get uncomfortable between us? And why do you leave every morning before I wake up? I bet you don't do that shit to Adonis!”

“X. You are yelling at me, and until you calm down, I am not having this conversation with you.”

“Oh. So, it's true. You spend the night with his ass, but you can't stay here with me,” he roared.

Kat had her things on and was heading for the door. X jumped up and grabbed her around the waist. “Don't go,” he whispered, “I'm sorry I lost my temper, baby.”

“X, I told you not to yell at me. I can't stand it.” This time, there were no tears. Kat wanted him to see she was strong enough to stand up for herself, and wasn't going to take that shit from him or anyone else. “I'm gonna go to my place now. I'll call you later.”

“No. If you're not staying, don't call me. You can't keep running in and out of my life, Kat. Those days are gone. We need to sit down right now and discuss this.”

“There's nothing to discuss, X.”

He frowned and clenched his teeth together. Kat watched his jaw muscles working as if the effort to control his temper was too much. Yet, he looked both angry and remorseful.

“Baby. I know I hurt you. I promise I won't yell again. Please let me make love to you.” Kat traced his deep dimples with her thumb and kissed him. They fell back on the bed together.
