Chapter Eighteen

Since being back in New York, Kelsie decided that she was going to play both sides of the fence. Her heart wouldn’t let her choose between Egypt and her father. Even though she loved her father dearly, and under normal circumstances she would never go against him, Kelsie just couldn’t fathom not having Egypt in her life. The two had grown really close and he held a big piece of her heart. If she had to sneak around behind her father’s back just to see Egypt, then that’s exactly what she was going to do.

Egypt, on the other hand wasn’t for all that. He and Kelsie were grown, so he didn’t understand the point of them sneaking around. Yes, he loved her and would do anything for her, but that was one thing he just couldn’t get with. He hated the fact that they had to be caught in the middle of their fathers' beef. He could understand why Kyrie had it out for his father but wanting Kelsie to leave him, fucked his head up because Egypt wasn’t Evan. They were two different people. Even though Egypt hated the fact that he and Kyrie would never be able to have a relationship, for Kelsie’s sake, he wasn’t the one to kiss anyone’s ass.

Kyrie was happy that his daughter decided not to continue to see Egypt. At least that’s what her mouth said. He couldn’t really trust her word, though, because he knew how things went when it came to matters of the heart. He had an inkling that his daughter was lying to him, so he decided that he was going to have Kelsie followed. If, in fact, she was still seeing Egypt, he hoped that she would eventually lead him to Evan.

What Evan did to him couldn’t go unpunished. He hated that his daughter fell for the enemy’s son and would go against his wishes when it came to him. He was just going to sit back and watch it play out and hope Kelsie led a trail to Evan.
