Jordan arrived at his office earlier than usual in preparation for the meeting with his team, Ivy’s and the network that had accepted his pitch for the show. From this point forward, he’d wanted to keep all communications between him and the Money Maven professional and cordial. But that didn’t stop him from looking forward to seeing her at their upcoming meeting.

Jordan had gotten the message loud and clear that she wasn’t interested in anything more. Weeks had passed since he’d last seen or heard from Ivy. To date, she’d never responded to his DM. All communication between them went through their teams. Contracts had been reviewed on all sides and now it was time to talk about their production schedule. If he wanted to pursue anything further with Ivy, it would have to wait.

Jordan took special care in preparing for the meeting, not just professionally, but personally. He was meticulous in choosing his outfit, a stylish sweater, dress pants and designer shoes. This was way dressier that he’d normally wear to the office but he was going to see Ivy today. Jordan couldn’t half-step. He added a light spray of his favorite cologne. The scent was fresh and clean. Jordan wanted the fact that he would be around Ivy to be no big deal. Yet he anticipated her arrival with every part of his being. The truth was, before he ever put his lips on Ivy, she’d already intrigued him. If anything, he would follow her lead. There was more to know about Ivy Blackwell. Their time together in New York had only allowed him to touch the surface.

Jordan looked at his watch once more. The meeting was scheduled to start soon, though not soon enough as far as he was concerned. He wondered how Ivy would respond to seeing him. Just then, he thought about how large her following was. It was possible that she’d never even seen his message. Perhaps it was buried in a sea of hundreds of other DMs? In that moment a wave of hoped passed through him. He’d rather she had not seen the message at all than to see it and ignore it.

Burying himself in his work, Jordan was startled when the office assistant knocked and then peeked her head inside his office.

“Ms. Blackwell and her team have arrived and the network will be up shortly.”

“Thank you, Kayla.”

Ivy was in the building. A smile spread across his face as he closed out the programs on his laptop and shut it down.

He caught up with Anderson on the way to the conference room. He spotted Ivy through the glass wall and felt a tightening in his stomach. Once inside, it was all business. Jordan and his team greeting everyone with a firm handshake and a professional demeanor.

“Ms. Blackwell.” Jordan nodded cordially when he greeted her.

“Great to see you again, Mr. Chambers,” she responded with a tight smile, receiving his firm handshake and returning just the right amount of firmness.

Jordan tried to be discreet. His gaze swept over Ivy quickly.
