5.2.1.1 What makes microwave technology superior to conventional heating?
MW irradiation provides fast and uniform heating, which offers advantages such as increased rate of reaction and higher yields of the desired product under milder reaction conditions. There are several attractive features of MW technology that make it superior to conventional heating in many aspects. Some of these factors are discussed next in detail.
