Chapter 24

Liam

That was hot.

The way Georgie gazed at me, looking timid, but she made the crowd hush, and conversations stopped as they watched my goddess walk with me.

Women stared, omegas hissed, alphas growled and received digs in the ribs from their girlfriends, but it didn’t stop them from staring.

Georgie’s face flushed. I thought it was shyness but the way her eyes pierced mine; I knew then it was irritation. But now she could never deny that she felt me. Never deny our scents together were magical. She admitted she scented me and I thought it was enough for me to wait for her, but sometimes my inner alpha won the battle.

And she might try to say she wasn’t comfortable with this kind of attention, but the way she melted into my arms when I kissed her, I knew she was feeling the same way as me.

I wanted more when she smiled at me and then at the crowd before she walked back to Carson. Where I watched him wrap a possessive arm around her shoulder and take her away from the stage.

Now we had two more songs and an encore to finish. It was the longest time of my life. I wanted to speak to her. Make sure she was okay with what I did. But not to admit it was because I was getting jealous of the growing closeness she had with Carson.

Could I share her with him if she eventually let go of the past and choose a new future? Sometimes I knew I could, but the alpha in me wanted her for me.

“What the fuck was that?” Jarrod growled as we walked off the stage when we finally finished and strolled to our backstage dressing room. Pointing his finger at me. “You know you can’t touch her?”

“I’m making it look real. You pulled Farrah on the stage many times, letting the world know she was yours. Why is Georgie any different?”

“That was different,” Jarrod yelled. “She was our omega.”

“Not mine. And you obviously forget, but Georgie is supposed to be,” I shouted back at him.

“And we agreed to keep her out of the spotlight. The press knows we have an omega. We don’t need to parade her around. Especially, as she has a past that we know she is running away from. What you’re doing is putting her life in danger.”

“We need to talk to her about that,” Eric said as we reached the room. “We could be in danger.”

I glanced at where Georgie was standing with Carson as they talked in the corner. He held her hand, his thumb brushing over her palm. The hair rose on the back of my neck as I watched them. It was one simple touch, but it made my blood heat so much I had to turn away to not combust.

I caught Eric’s gaze before I turned away. He watched me, watching the interaction between Carson and Georgie. I shrugged my shoulder in response, like I never cared, but that was how I always reacted.
