You bade me ban, and will you bid me leave?

Now, by the ground that I am banish’d from,

(still on the ground)

Well could I curse away a winter’s night,

Though standing naked on a mountain top,

Where biting cold would never let grass grow,

And think it but a minute spent in sport.

(does the body start to shiver in circulatory reaction to the adrenalin flow of the cursing? is there semi-hysterical laughter?)

O! let me entreat thee cease. Give me thy hand.

That I may dew it with my mournful tears;

(take his hand to your face)

Nor let the rain of heaven wet this place,

To wash away my woeful monuments.

O! could this kiss (kiss his hand) be printed in thy hand,

That thou might’st think upon these (lips) by this seal (the kiss),

Through whom a thousand sighs are breath’d for thee.

So, get thee gone, that I may know my grief;

(push him away)

’Tis but surmis’d while thou art standing by, (when did he get up?)

As one that surfeits thinking on a want.

(hold on to yourself physically as if you might vomit)

I will repeal thee, or, be well assur’d,

Adventure to be banished myself;

And banished I am, if but from thee.

(what happens? do you break down again? does he come to you? he

tries to say something)

Go; speak not to me; even now be gone.

(he starts to go)

O! go not yet!

(hold each other)

Even thus two friends condemn’d

Embrace, and kiss and take ten thousand leaves,

(suit the actions to the words)

Loather a hundred times to part than die.

Yet now farewell; and farewell life with thee.

(try to make him go)
