‘I don’t understand why they’re cross,’ Champ snorted as they galloped away. ‘They asked me to tell their fortunes!’

‘But the things you said weren’t true, Champ!’ Olivia sighed. ‘This is what we’ve been trying to tell you! Lies always catch up with you and get you into trouble in the end.’

‘Yes, it’s got to stop, Champ,’ Eliza agreed. ‘I know you’ve been cursed, but can’t you try to tell the truth?’

Champ looked downhearted. ‘Oh, girls, I don’t even know how to be truthful! It’s been so long.’

‘Don’t worry,’ Olivia said, ‘we’re going to help you. Quick! To the cookie stall!’
