3. Still using light guidelines, rough in the approximate shapes of the clothing and sword. Do some more work on the hands, then start placing the facial features. When you outline the hair, try to capture the way it looks when it has been caught by a gust of wind. The waistcoat should be drawn with a similar texture to suggest fur.

4. Now for some of the detail that really makes this triumphant stance. There’s a lot to think about here—the facial expression, the rest of the outline for the hair and clothes, and the strapping around the legs and wrist. Notice the fold lines on the pant legs.
