Chapter Twenty-Seven

Raven woke up to someone kicking the bed again.

She opened one eye to see Kendall staring down at her, just like the other morning.

“What?” Raven asked.

Kendall raised her eyebrows. “Really? You have to ask?”

Raven closed her eye. “Yes. I’m tired.”

“You’re naked in Ranulf’s bed.”

Raven flew up so fast that she forgot to grab the sheet that had been covering her breasts.

“Damn, girl. You look like you had a rough night.”

Raven lifted the covers to her chest and looked around the room. It was only her and Kendall. “Where are they?”

She didn’t have to tell Kendall who “they” were. She knew Raven meant Chase and Ranulf.

“They left to run an errand about fifteen minutes ago.”

Raven dropped the sheet and climbed out of bed. Her shirt was on the floor next to Chase’s bed, where she had dropped it after taking it off before he gave her a massage. Thankfully, it went to mid-thigh because she had no idea where her underwear was.

Kendall lifted a scrap of fabric off the floor and held it up. “Are you looking for these?” She twisted them around. “I don’t think they’ll be of much use to you, seeing as how they’re broken.”

Raven took a giant step toward her friend and tried to snatch them out of her grip. “I’ll take those.”

Kendall was too fast. She whipped her hand behind her back. With her free hand, she wagged her finger at Raven. “Uh-uh-uh. Not until you tell me what happened last night.” She grinned. “Did you have sex with them?” She closed her eyes, looking pained. “Please tell me you had sex with them.” She lifted her lids. “I haven’t had sex since I got pregnant. I think I’m reaching some sort of weird pregnancy sexual heat because I want to hear everything. I’m so horny.”

“And if nothing happened?”

“I’d call you a lying liar because your nipples are red, you have bite marks on both sides of your neck, and it smells like pussy in here, Raven. Pussy.”

Raven pulled the hem of her shirt down. She wasn’t normally self-conscious, but Kendall had noticed way too much. “I don’t know if I should tell you, you big weirdo.”

“Please. I need to live vicariously through you. Did you not hear how horny I am?”

“If you promise to stop saying horny, I’ll tell you.”

“Horny, horny, horny.” She grabbed Raven’s hand and smacked the ripped underwear into her palm. “Okay, I’m done. Now, tell me.”

Raven nodded toward the door. “Let’s go to my room.”

Kendall looked around as if she’d just remembered where they were. “Good point.”

“How were the cat-shifters?” Raven asked as they walked to her room.

“Good. They said to tell everyone hi.”

After living with the cat-shifters for months, Kendall had become friends with most of them, and sometimes, she hung out with them for the night. Since no one from the wolf-shifters had replaced her there, she still had a room and would often spend the night.

“I’m glad you got out of the house a little.”

They reached Raven’s room, and Kendall shut the door behind them.
