Cordelia’s Popcorn

1 bag of microwave popcorn (I prefer PopSmart Kettle Corn. You can eat an entire bag and not feel guilty about the calories. The whole point of low calorie food is to be able to eat more of it!)

Open popcorn package and insert in microwave with the correct side up. If you trust your microwave not to burn your popcorn, you can use the “popcorn” setting. If you have doubts it’s better to stand in front of the microwave and count the seconds between popping sounds. You can also contemplate the amount of radiation your head (if the microwave is mounted over the stove) or chest (if it’s a countertop microwave) is getting.

Tip: Never, ever, re-pop an opened bag of popcorn. Even if you stopped the microwave too soon and all your kernels didn’t pop, do not stick it back in the microwave! The bag will catch on fire. Yes, I know the bags have that warning on them. I’m just saying that some people might think it was a fanciful, worst-case scenario kind of warning and not a real one. Trust me, it’s a real warning.
