His hand is warm and rough around mine as he pulls me through the crowd and I notice Foster nearby.

“Hey no fair! You didn’t say we could enlist help!”

“You snooze you lose freckles! Get ready to bow down!”

Foster joins our hunting party and we lean against the wall in a darkened hallway while rando points to some glass doors at the end of the hall.

Foster and I look at each other, knowing that if one of us gets the jump then the other person will be seen and therefore lose the shot, but he puts his damn running back skills to the test, throwing me over his shoulder and storming down the hall like I don’t even hinder him.

“Foster! You fucking cheater!”

I feel him laugh under me as he throws the door open and goes for the kill.

“Ha! One more to go.”

“Put me down!”

“Nah, I think taking out the competition is a better option.”

I look at Rando as Foster stalks around carrying me over his shoulder, trying to come up with a plan. His nerf gun is out of reach so I can’t empty its bullets, but then an evil idea comes upon me.

I smirk at rando before lifting Foster’s shirt enough to get contact with his skin and send a baby wave of undiluted lust straight into him, making him immediately stumble.

Rando guy scoops me up before my ass hits the ground and I steal Foster’s gun as I get to my own feet again, running through the house looking for my last target. I am running at this point, determined to beat Foster to the car, hoping like hell I see someone making out on the way there.

Luck is on my side because as I near the front door, I spy an alcove with low lighting and bodies tangling so I whip around and shoot the guy in the middle of his back, yelling an apology and sending a mist of lust towards them to make up for the interruption.

Hey, if I was making out with someone I wouldn’t want to be interrupted. Really, it was the least I could do. You know, aside from not shooting them.

I smirk to myself at the ‘cupid’ nickname that Palmer gave me earlier, and imagine the nerf gun was actually an arrow. Potential Halloween costume idea.

Satisfied that I hit all my targets, I give a victory ‘whoop!’ and gracefully jump over a drunk dude on the front lawn, barreling towards my car at top speed.

“You know, next time you want to race somebody to do something, you should probably ensure they don’t have crazy enhanced vampiric speed.”

“Fuck you scared me Grey!”

I fall on my knees from the unexpected voice that was pretty damn good at hiding in the shadows while he laughs at me, then goes to help me up.

“Ugh, that was pretty dumb, wasn’t it? Oh well, at least I beat Foster!”

Foster comes tearing through the door next, giving up in defeat the second he sees us both there.
