A Child’s Wish

I wish that Mom and Dad could see

how desperately I need to be

with both of them

throughout my life

to help me learn and

cope with strife.

I wish that Mom and Dad could be

the lovers who once wanted me

to grow up strong and happily

to excel scholastically.

I wish that Mom and Dad would

use

the money spent on court abuse

on things they need around the

house

instead of hurting their ex-spouse.

They know that I sure want to be

with both of them –shared

custody,

so I can know that they are there

so that I know

for me they care.
