Demonic Bondage and Forgiveness

During one case in which our M16 team went out to bless a home marked by spiritual activity, the young woman who lived there said she was psychic and was learning to use her gift.

As we blessed the house, the spirit that was in the house began to manifest in the woman. The prayer team and I prayed over her and started pulling spirits off her. When the house settled into a climate of peace (through the Holy Spirit and our prayers) we wrapped up our session and headed home.

The next morning, I shot an e-mail to a friend who is also my mentor. He immediately replied with a word of knowledge that the demonic spirit in the woman’s house intended to return that night. The woman involved in this case needed to forgive someone.

As I returned to focus on my day job, I forgot about my friend’s email. Late in that evening, I received a phone call: the spirit had returned and we were needed right away. I immediately remembered what my friend said in the e-mail.

Lisa and I spent nearly three hours on that deliverance. We cut through the spirits with the power and authority of the Holy Spirit to get the woman to repent for an unresolved matter in her life.

Dealing with demonic oppression is multi-layered. In this particular case, the spiritual gateway into this woman’s life was opened up through her training in psychic practices. The demon spirit found the darkness inside her and latched onto it. If I had just asked the woman to repent for using powers of darkness, it wouldn’t have evicted the spirits entirely.

These monsters are legalistic. That is why you should never ask them their names. They lie; and if you call out the wrong demon, your deliverance session will become that much harder for you. Rely on the gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will reveal the underlying sin these demons have used as their nest. In this case, psychic practices opened the gateway, but unforgiveness was where the demon settled in. That nest was revealed and cleaned out.
