Find Your Own Words

Just as our bodies can suffer physical starvation, so can our spirits. God says that He is the Bread of Life and the bread is His Word, our sustenance. However, without the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures are just words.

The Word of God lives in you. That means the Holy Spirit is working on your behalf to bring you closer to the Father. He knows your heart, your past, your failures, your future, your strengths, and your weaknesses. I don’t. The Scriptures that the Lord showed me during my season in hell were for me: specific to me, breathed on by the Holy Spirit, who is working on my behalf to lead me right into the arms of my loving Father. He used the Word to walk me through past abuse, to speak to my specific fears, to break off generational curses, and to comfort me. No generic Scripture that has the words “do not fear” in it will release you. It’s the Holy Spirit who leads you to the Word and breathes life into it. That’s how Scripture heals. That is where deliverance comes from. That’s where the power is!

You need to cling to the Word of God like it is your only meal of the day. Study the Word as a whole and not just in part. Do not let troubles, rain, or fear keep you away. Ask God to show you daily your manna, your word. God, I know that all I need is in here; show me what You have for me today. Then you search, and you keep asking, and you keep knocking, and the Word will come alive. He will show you what to read; He will show you what is for you.

I want to share with you the Scriptures listed below that healed, comforted, and delivered me in my season of torment. I hope that God speaks to you through them as well, but my greatest wish is that you will seek the Bible for your words—words God created just for you in this season of your life.
