Chapter 22

Danni

Danni had been so nervous of doing anything now ever since the crooked cops came to her job. She was nervous because they knew so much about her and she didn’t know when they would come back to her job and embarrass her again.

Danni made her way to work, tired from being woken up by Lorren who needed her advice. All she wanted to do was go to work, come home and relax. Little did she know was that her day was about to get extra interesting. She went into work and of course talked to Jaden, who informed her that some girl came into the office and personally asked for her. Danni was puzzled by who would come into the doctor’s office and ask for her to exam them. She knew it wasn’t any of her friends because they would have called her that night or morning and told her to make them an appointment.

“Jaden who was the girl?” Danni asked.

“Girl, I have no idea who she was. She was kind of ghetto and loud.” Jaden said sucking his teeth.

“How in the hell she know me?” Danni asked getting nervous.

“I have no idea honey. I do have her name though because she said she would come back at 1.” Jaden informed Danni.

“When were you going to tell me you had a name?” Danni asked play hitting Jaden.

“Now bitch. Her name is Toni Adams.”

“Toni Adams? Why the hell was she looking for me?” Danni asked.

“Well, maybe she needs a look down there.” Jaden said while laughing.

Jaden and Danni went their separate ways since it was a busy day at the doctor’s office. They couldn’t wait till 12 o’clock to come. They just wanted to be as far away from the office as possible. Jaden and Danni went to Chipotle to get some lunch and eat inside. While they ate they talked about everything and everybody. They noticed they had 10 minutes to get back to work so they wrapped up their leftover food and left. When they walked back into the office, their adviser told them which room they told their patients to go in.

When Danni walked into her exam room and saw Toni Adams sitting on the bed, you could have bought Danni for a penny.

“Hey Danielle” Toni said.

“How you doing Toni?” Danni asked.

Toni was Danni’s friend from college and also Bryon’s cousin. The other girls didn’t really care for Toni but Danni always was her friend, which was how Danni met Bryon. They were cool, but Toni was bipolar and kind of crazy, and to add on top of that she took meds. With Toni you never knew what her mood was. She had stopped being Danni’s friend because Danni was hanging with her girls more and limiting her time around Toni. She couldn’t take the mood swings and she got word that Toni use to lace her weed, so when Danni found that out she told Bryon and Toni didn’t like that she told him about her life at college.
