BLAZE

“Damn, man. You just finna leave me up here? Real niggas get lonely too,” Supreme grumbled, muting the tv.

“Crybaby ass, nigga.” Standing up, I shook my head. “I’m finna take Vana out.”

I had been up here for a few hours. Once I left her crib, I went to get my hair re-twisted, then came to sit with him until we had to leave. We all tried to rotate, so somebody could be up here if he needed help, but the doctor told him he should be getting discharged soon.

“Oh, shit. Blaze and Vana sitting in the tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G.,” he sang.

“You petty as fuck.” I chuckled.

He laughed, then typed something on his phone. I knew it was probably Crayola ‘cause it didn’t surprise him when I told him what I saw with Kimiko and Quest. He told me he really ain’t believe she wasn’t talking to somebody else and they most likely were conversating behind his back the whole time.

I thought it was gone be weird between us since he found out we were related, but it ain’t changed nothing. We both had our mouths swabbed for the test, and the results would be back in a few days. On the way to the elevator, I saw mama talking on the phone. After giving me a hug, she continued walking down the hallway.

A nigga needed a joint bad; these last few days had been crazy. I made it to the whip and, before I even turned on the car, I lit one up. As soon as I exhaled and inhaled smoke into the air, I cranked it up and sped out of the parking lot.

As I listened to Rod Wave’s Don’t Forget, I cursed under my breath when I saw the time on the dashboard was 6:25, but I still had to shower and get dressed. I planned some girly stuff that I knew she would enjoy and, to be honest, I was nervous. She ain’t never been on a date and, even though I ain’t let her know this, I never did this shit either. After pulling into my driveway, I finished the blunt and hopped out.

As soon as I entered the house, I turned off the alarm and checked the security cameras by the door. Seeing nothing suspicious, I went upstairs to take a quick shower. Once I got out, I went to my closet to find something to wear.

I had a black turtleneck shirt, black slacks, my Gucci loafers with gold cross chain, and a gold Rolex. After spraying cologne on my wrist, I went to my safe to get a few hunnid dollars. Before I slipped my phone into my pocket, I checked the time.

I had forty-five minutes to get there, so I took my time and drove down the street. I glanced at my phone and saw a missed call from Dasha. She had been blowing up my phone for the past few days, and I’d been sending the calls straight to voicemail.

When I got there, I parked next to Crayola’s car and got out.
