CHAPTER 4

Haskell pulled into the fine arts parking lot. He kept to the back of the lot, waiting. Shar sat back and crossed her legs.

“How do you do that?” Haskell asked.

“Do what?” Shar asked.

“Nevermind,” he angled to look back at Alexis. “Bloody hell, do you have your feet up on my leather seat?” he stared daggers at her. She’d taken off her shoes and was lounging in the back.

“Oh calm down, you wouldn’t be complaining if you were on top of me and my feet were pressed against the windows.” She lifted her feet and wiggled her toes next to Haskell’s ear. “At least I took my shoes off before resting them on your precious leather.”

“Bloody hell woman, get your feet away from me.” He swiped at her feet.

Shar erupted in laughter. “You two, we need to be keeping an eye out for Ben.” She moved her hand in front of her mouth, brushing her finger across her lips. Haskell reached a hand over to gently grab her wrist.

“Don’t hide laughter, love.” Haskell ran his fingers down her palm before moving his hand back to his lap. She peered over at him. Not sure what to think of his random kindness. Lights flickered through the window behind them.

“Ah, let the fun begin.” Alexis clapped her hands together.

“Shh, you don’t even know if it’s him.”

“Oh, it’s him alright. Come on, babe, let’s go have some fun before he gets to the poor unsuspecting mage.” Alexis’ smile lit up her face.

“Okay, but let me lead. I owe this guy some serious pain.”

“Alright, but then I get the next one.” The pout on Alexis’ face was almost comical. They watched as Ben got out of the car. He scanned the parking lot before he stalked toward the building. Shar and Alexis slipped out of the car and followed.

“He’s a drainer, so don’t let him get his hands on you. He can’t do it unless his palms touch you.” Shar whispered as they followed behind Ben in the shadows of the parking lot.

Alexis flickered the energy in her fingers. “You ready?”

“Absolutely,” she winked at Alexis.

Ben hovered at the side entrance to the fine arts building. Alexis gave her a playful look. It had been far too long since they’d done anything like this. “Hey sugar,” Alexis sauntered up to their mark. Ben instantly tensed. He lifted his hand to his coat and Shar blasted him with a bolt of energy. He staggered back.

“Remember me?” Shar stepped into his line of vision. “You had a real good time with me, didn’t you?” She threw another blast against his chest.

Ben’s eyes widened as recognition dawned. He clutched his chest. Shar sent small blasts of energy to different parts of his body. Not enough to kill him, just enough to cause pain. She wanted to milk as much pain out of him as she could before she killed him. She smirked before sending one to his cock. Alexis’ eyes widened as she stared open-mouthed at Shar.

“Shar, do you hear that? Footsteps, someone’s coming.
