“The thing in the stairwell” at the Guilty Martini. In this photograph, the fractured spirit takes the form of a “huge, cloudy vortex.”

As a result of his actions, his spirit was fractured, and the residue of those animal victims stuck to him when he passed. So, he no longer appeared human. Rather, Rona said, “He looked like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown, but with beaks and ears and different things sticking out of him.”

Rona actually captured a photograph of the thing in the stairwell. In the picture, it doesn’t look like how Rona saw it, but rather like a cloud. But inside. It’s quite weird.

Rona was ascending the staircase to the roof when one of the people behind her said, “Rona, behind you!” She quickly turned around and took a series of photographs. In the first and third photos, there was nothing unusual — just a staircase — but in the second picture, there was what Rona described as a “huge, cloudy vortex” that was moving across the stairwell. People have looked at the picture and thought it was just smoke, but Rona said no. “How the hell did a big cloud of smoke just appear in the stairwell?” she asked. There was no wind, nothing that could explain it.
