Eva’s Loaded Baked Beans

(In memory of my sister Eva Marie 1960–1997)

12-inch Dutch oven

10 coals on bottom

16 coals on top

350 degrees

1 pound ground sausage, browned

1 large onion, chopped

1 large green bell pepper, chopped

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup molasses

1 pound bacon, cut into pieces

1 tablespoon garlic salt

2 cans (24 ounces each) pork and beans

Combine all ingredients together inside Dutch oven. Cover and bake, using 10 coals underneath the oven and 16 coals on top, for 50 minutes. You can serve this hot or cold.
